About the Event

Kharchu Ugyen Yoebar Center of New York Inc. warmly invites everyone to celebrate Lhabab Düchen, a sacred festival in Buddhism that commemorates the descent of Lord Shakyamuni Buddha from the Heaven of the Thirty-Three Gods back to Earth.

On this auspicious day, we will recite the Bum (Choe Bum), the chanting of the vast Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra (Perfection of Wisdom scriptures), typically consisting of 100,000 verses or abbreviated major texts.
